Warning signs

Signs you may have a leak

Noticing one or more of these? It is worth getting it checked early — catching a leak sooner keeps repair costs and water damage down.

  • Water level dropping more than normal evaporation
  • Having to top up the pool more often than usual
  • Cracks in the shell, coping or waterline tiles
  • Soggy or sunken ground around the pool or equipment
  • Air bubbles from return jets or a losing prime pump

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my pool is actually leaking or just evaporating?
Evaporation typically only accounts for a few millimetres a day. If you are losing more than that, or topping up several times a week, it is worth having the pool tested. The bucket test is a good first check, and we can confirm the result on site.
Can you find the leak without emptying the pool?
In most cases, yes. Pressure testing and underwater dye testing let us locate the vast majority of leaks with the pool full, so there is no need to drain it.
Do you repair the leak as well as find it?
Yes. Once the source is confirmed we carry out targeted repairs to the shell, fittings or plumbing and re-test to make sure the leak is gone.
